Restoran Fatty Sang @ Kepong Baru KL

Plenty of good food can be found in Kepong Baru if you're adventurous enough to venture around the area. Downside is the traffic which is a nightmare most of the time and it's not uncommon to bump into reckless drivers on the road. After reading a review from Pink Parisian, I braved through the traffic to lunch here.

Ordered a bowl of seafood noodle with clear soup (RM5.50) and I didn't have to wait long for it to be served.

Look at the amount of ingredients added into this RM5.50 bowl of seafood noodle! Damn worth the price. I wouldn't say that it tastes/fares better than the one from Yu Ai but hey, it's DEFINITELY CHEAPER than Yu Ai's. The clear soup has the natural sweetness taste from the variety of seafood used.

Other than clear soup, you may opt for tom yum. I was also told that fish head noodle is available too.

Restoran Fatty Sang
30 Ground Floor,
Jalan Ambong Dua,
Kepong Baru,
52100 Kuala Lumpur.

FINAL VERDICT

Location: 2/5 (Traffic is hazardous on weekdays :P)
Taste: 3.5/5
Hygiene: 2/5
Price: 4/5

Delicious Curry Fish Head @ HappyCity Food Court, Kepong KL

BACKLOG

I received free tickets to watch Disney's Beauty and the Beast - The Broadway Musical at the Plenary Hall, KLCC in June 2008. A very entertaining show with lots of props and stunning costumes.

After the show, we left the place around 6+pm with hungry stomachs and big appetites. I suggested to have dinner at Kepong because I just love the curry fish head available at Happy City food court. Exact location is Kepong Baru and the nearby landmarks are Carrefour and KFC. You won't miss the food court as you'll spot it easily when driving along the main road at Kepong Baru.

Due to the petrol price hike, there's also a slight increase with the smallest portion which costs RM10 (previously RM9) excluding rice. You may opt to have more meat and not the head by informing the person who is handling your order.

Lots of vegetables, taufu pok, curry powder, herbs are added into the claypot and cooked under high flames for several minutes. Level of spiciness is only moderate so for those who could not tolerate spicy food, this is perfect for you. Do dine in early on weekend evenings as the list of orders could get really long and waiting time is at least 15 mins.

We knew that we would have to wait since we arrived quite late for the evening so packing away a dinner set of KFC beforehand would cure our hunger pangs for the time being. I think we looked extremely hungry and greedy judging from the stares we received :p

Ohh... the owner of this stall also guarantees the freshness of the ingredients especially the fish as it is the utmost important tip in cooking delicious seafood dish. I totally agree with this!
